Name: Ameo
Names are not important. They are just some letters of the alphabet arranged in different orders. They sometimes mean different things in different cultures, or in different times. People make a sound when they call someone. If you recognise it, then you react to it. It is just for convenience.

With more and more people in the same area, it takes a bit more effort to arrange a new sound to distinguish each other. We are not going to fight over a sound. We don’t own the Earth, and we don’t own a sound. Enjoy life, not worry about a name.

Scribbles:
My scribbles reveal my inner world. The way I interact with my surroundings - be they people, nature, or my belongings. The joy of meeting, and the sadness of parting.

Humor:
I like humor. I have bought a variety of things as props for my jokes to entertain those around me. I often tell people about my roommate George. Of course, there was no George. To keep my promise of introducing him to my friends, I rushed out to a professional cleaning shop far away to get a ‘George’. My friends cracked up like kookaburras the moment they saw me holding him. My sofa looks like Big Foot. My coffee table is only a couple of centimeters above the ground. I bought a huge tent from New Zealand as a joke too. After the laughter, some realized there’s a sincere message hidden in my humor.

＜ユーモア＞
僕はよくふざける。
周りの人を笑わせる為だけにでも沢山の物を買った。
例えば、よく友達に同居人のジョージの事を話す。もちろんジョージなんて人はいない。
ある日友達が遊びに来る時には、約束通りジョージを紹介しようとして、掃除専門店に行ってジョージを買った。その店は僕の所からは遠かったけど、ジョージを抱いて出て来た僕を見てみんなが笑い転げた時の事は忘れられない思い出になった。
家も面白い。ソファーはビックフットみたいで、コーヒーテーブルはほとんど床と同じ高さ…家具もユニーク。でっかいのニュージーランドテントまでジョークの道具。

Cleaning:
Every one of my belongings evokes a beautiful memory. I spend much time cleaning and caring for my belongings like the way I care for relationships with people and nature.

＜メインテナンス＞
みなを笑わす為に買った物だけど、僕は一つ一つ大切にメインテナンスをする。
人を大切にするように、僕に関わった物は全て大切にしたい。

Collection:
Besides collecting items for humor, I also collect objects that appeal to me.

笑わす道具だけでなく、僕が気に入った物も沢山集めた。

Time Capsule:
From the way people make products at different times, we can see changes in self-discipline. The first years are like beta testing. After many years of refinement, they have achieved the best quality. Unfortunately, people then become complacent, and begin to explore ways to lower manufacturing costs. I buy things when I consider it has reached its peak in quality. On many occasions, as I predicted, the quality soon dropped. I have been reluctant to let go of items in my collection as I will never be able to get them back. I use these items to educate the younger generation. It is especially revealing to those who are studying product design. Naturally, being born as an entertainer, I have also brought lightness on these occasions. However, there is often a long period of painful silence after I let them witness and compare the differences with their own eyes. Some of these youngsters have found new challenges after my demonstrations which I dubbed “Time Capsule”.

＜タイムカプセル＞
同じ物でも、作る人や作る時代によって微妙に違う物が作り出される。
僕はこのコレクションをタイムカプセルと呼ぶ。
新製品の場合、試作や売り出しはじめた後、最初の１−２年くらいで最高の品質ものを作り上げる。その後は残念ながら、コンパクト化にしたり、製造コストを下げる為にいろいろな物が取り除かれ、品質は落ちてしまう。
僕が物を買う時は、質が最もいいと思われる時点で買う事にしてる。大抵の物はこの予想は的中で、僕が買った後に発売された物は製造国が変わったり、質が落ちている。
今回この物と別れる事は何度も躊躇した。いったん今持っている物を手放したら、今度買う時は必ず質が落ちている事は確かだから。
今まで僕のコレクションはプロダクトデザインの若者達へ教育目的も果たしていた。
特に彼らが製品の質の移り変わりを目にした時の顔は忘れられない。新しい物がすばらしい訳ではない事を知った若者の中には新しいチャレンジの方向が見つかったようで今も頑張っている。

Parting:
I had originally intended to build a cave-like gallery to house my collection which I would call “Cave One”. However, some events have taken me in a new direction: I am going to part with most of my belongings as an experiment, a demonstration, a gag, a statement, a message for people in every corner around the world.

＜別れ＞
全ての物に楽しい思い出がある。人を大切にするだけではなくて物も丁寧に扱う。
別れるのは寂しいから一生持っているつもりだったけど、世界中の人とこの幸せを分かち合うのもいい気がするので一部をここに出して新しいオーナーを探してみる事にした。
もともと家に洞窟のようなギャラリーを作りたいと思っていて、名前も「Cave one」に決めていた。
でも、僕の物がみんなを笑顔にする事ができたり、僕のメッセージが世界中に届けば、それは素敵な事だと思う。

From me to you:
Through my belongings, we connect. However far apart we are. I hope my belongings go to a compassionate person, a sentimental one. Some of my belongings might even go to a mirror of myself. I hope my belongings will continue to bring a little laughter to the world.

＜わたしからあなたへ＞
僕の物を通してあなたとつながる。
離れていく僕の物、どんなに遠くに行ってしまっても、思いやりのある人の所にもらわれてほしい。
ある物は僕と全く同じような人の所へ行くかもしれない。
僕の元から離れて、その後何十年も誰かを笑わせたり、幸せにする事ができたら。。。

物との別れはiPhoneと何の関係が？と思っている人いますよね？
計画してた訳じゃないんですが、世界中からアクセス数が急激にアップしてサイトがダウンしてしまうなど、いろいろあって、サイトを運営する時間を短縮する為に二つの事を混ぜる事にしました。詳しい事はまた後日。
でも、心配しないで下さい。iPhoneについての質問はまだ受け付けてますし、これからも沢山のiPhone情報を載せて行く予定です。
